The Vienna Residence Orchestra was founded in 1990 by the pianist and conductor Paul Moser and his wife, the singer Sylvia Moser. The orchestra quickly grew in size and fame in its early years, and was soon invited to tours around the world.

In 1999, the Vienna Residence Orchestra was one of the first orchestras in Vienna to establish a daily concert series of classical music in the Palais Liechtenstein. For 30 years now, specially designed programs have been presented with a sophisticated feel for the audience.

In 2014, the Vienna Hofburg Orchestra joined the musical family. The eventful history of the Vienna Residence Orchestra can be found on our “History” page.

Today the orchestra performs the concert series “Vienna Classic Concerts” in the baroque Palais Auersperg, the Vienna Stock Exchange and other historic palaces in the heart of Vienna.
